THE FOUNDERS
Melchijah and Adrian met in Amsterdam, both working as hairdressers.
After working together for a few years they decided to take their work to the next level and open The Window hairsalon together.
After 5 succesfull years of running their bussiness, the window is innovating and so is the team. All hairdressers are now freelance enterpeneurs.
Melchijah expanding herself outside the salon. She will continue participating in photoshoots, session hair styling, various international fashion shows, she also collaborates with fashion magazines, as well as various modelling agencies.
Adrian decided it was time for adventure and is taking business to Spain, giving various workshops and trainings in different hair salons.

Founder
Adrian is not the first in his family to become a successful hairstylist. Therefore, he was exposed to the world of hairdressing from an early age back home in Madrid. Already at 16 he decided he wanted to pursue this career and started working. After several years of learning and gaining experience in Spain, Adrian decided it was time for a new adventure. He has always loved travelling and learning, so he decided to move to one of the top places for hairdressing, London. After 1,5 year of getting the most out of work and life in the vibrant multicultural city, it was time to look for new experiences elsewhere.
Time in Amsterdam did not only bring new work opportunities and friends, but also the love of his life, Melchijah. After a few years of working together, they decided it was about time to take a new step in their careers and start their own business, and that is how the Window was born.
Travelling is one of the favourite activities for Adrian, especially making connections with people from different cultures and beliefs. It is the best way to learn about the versatility of the world, and experience all the different ways in which people express themselves. This knowledge not only inspires Adrian personally, but also enables him to apply it in his work. Building connections with clients and exchanging good energy with each other is also a particularly important factor in Adrian’s work. He does not only get to create but also learn from others every day. Adrian’s curiosity never ends, he is always asking questions and striving to learn more, be it at work, or in personal life. He believes that it is amazing how one can apply creativity, create, and transform one’s appearance just by using a pair of scissors.

CARMEL

Carmel started as a nail stylist but didn't feel like it challenged her enough. She decided to start a hairdressing course besides her job. During her course, she saw how professional hairdressers could make such a difference in someone's appearance, looks and maybe even their lives. Carmel loved this and dreamed of making people happy and confident with themselves by doing their hair.
Carmel started working at the Window as a receptionist, while learning more and more about hair. She transformed into a talented confident hairdresser and is specialized in Keratin treatments.
Beside work, she loves to dance, meditate and do yoga. She finds her inspiration in her many creative hobbies like doing nails, making leather bags and dancing. But also from her surroundings and others in the field.

SCHIELAH

Schielah is originally from California, where she started her career at a young age. She was 17 and working at a local skate shop, when a friend introduced her to the idea of beauty school. It seemed fun, so she decided to go for it. She started hairdressing in a salon in California and eventually relocated to New York. She worked with many incredible stylists as well as clients in both locations. She spread her wings again, this time to Amsterdam and joined us at The Window.
She gets a lot of her inspiration from her peers. She loves working with a wide range of diverse individuals. “We all have different strengths and can learn a lot from each other.”
Coming from California she is always drawn to the effortlessly, lived in, sun kissed vibes. But after living in NYC she's also inspired by her experience there, especially when it comes to the grungy punk rock east village style.
When she's not working she's typically trying to be on vacation.
Even if it means staying at home, having a mental vacation by cooking a dish that makes her feel she's someplace she's dreaming of traveling to or simply by being a tourist in her own city.

Romy has been inspired to become a hairstylist for as long as she can remember. As a young girl, she was never satisfied with the way her hair was done in her hometown, and always believed that she could do a better job. At the age of 13, she already knew what career path she was going to take and has never regretted her decision since.
Romy has been part of the Window team for years now, and her main motivator is the creativity that she can apply to her work every day. No day is the same and every client is different, which makes it possible for Romy to be inspired every day. She loves working with people and doing her best to find an individual approach to everyone. She loves taking the time to listen and give advice to ensure that the client leaves feeling happy, beautiful, and secure with his or her look.
Romy’s creativity doesn’t end there: she loves finding new interior design ideas which she applies to her beautiful home, as well being a big fashion enthusiast, and she even paints!

Damla

Damla started her career as an English teacher, but later realized that she was missing creativity in life. After taking time to connect with her inner self, she realized that hairdressing was her true calling. She put all her thoughts and effort into her goal and went to study while working, and assisting part time. She joined the Window as the first ever assistant and it was an instant click!
Damla worked hard and grew from assistant to a top hairstylist and colorist. She kept learning and growing and decided to spread her wings and explore. She soon got back at the Window as it felt like home. She eventually evolved into a freelance entrepreneur at The Window.
Damla’s style isn’t about perfection, but about personality and character. She loves creating organic looks, and highlight what is already naturally beautiful in her clients. She loves literature, film, and fashion, and that is where she finds inspiration for her work.

Vincent wasn't always sure what he wanted to do for a living, it wasn't until his older brother started with hairdressing that he decided to give it a try. Once he started working in a salon he fell in love with it right away. The combination of being creative and working with people always has been something he loved, so working in the hair industry was the perfect fit.
As a creative being Vincent's passion is to embrace his creativity, look for new styles, ideas and techniques. He gets his inspiration from music, sub-cultures and art. He loves being surrounded by like-minded people and get's motivated by his creative and talented friends.
Besides doing hair you can find him in the kitchen cooking delicious meals or travelling solo, exploring different places around the world.

Maria loves everything beauty and already knew as a teen that she wanted to do hair and make-up. She went to hairdressing school right after high school. After this, she continued learning by doing lots of trainings and courses and still loves to continue to learn the newest hairdressing techniques and styles.

Maria advices her new clients to book a consultant first, this can be booked through email.
In this consult you discus your wishes and background of your hair so Maria get’s a good overview of the quality of your hair and if your wishes are reachable and which treatments needs to be booked for it. The consultant can be live in the salon or via facetime.A deposit of 30% has to be done for new clients or long color treatments. Your appointment is definite when the payment is done.
50% payment for no show or cancelation within 24 hours
